Afrobeat, Rock

The Funk Lion adventure began in 2011 when the Canadian singer-songwriter of Haitian origin, Francis Brisebois, returned to his ancestral land to study traditional rhythms. Inspired by Caribbean music and psychedelic rock, an accomplished guitarist, he has worked throughout his career with artists such as La Bronze, Boogat, Samito, Maritza, Vander, Poirier, Ramon Chicharron, and several others, serving as an arranger, composer, and accompanist.

He arrived in 2018 with a debut album, "Cité d'or," a blend of wild rock and other psychedelic delights infused with Afro-futurism, Negro-spiritual singing, and voodoo-funk. Surrounded on stage by his accomplices Julien Senez on bass and sequences, Anne-Sophie Coiteux on keyboards, and Anthony Pageot on drums, the Funk Lion experience is fully lived out like an uninhibited psychedelic carnival.
