Reno McCarthy was born in Cambridge, England. Growing up surrounded by Anglophone music, he initially expressed himself artistically in English. Over the past five years, he has released two albums, two EPs, and several singles that received high praise from the public, critics, and fellow musicians. It was through involvement in various projects within Montreal's music scene (Olivia Khoury, Bayta, Jeanne Côté) that he truly discovered Francophone Quebec music.
Last summer, during a return to his roots in the United Kingdom, Reno wrote his first lyrics in French to celebrate his dual cultural heritage.
This winter, following his participation in the 27th edition of the Francouvertes, Reno McCarthy officially set course for the production of his third full-length album, his first entirely in French.
