Multidisciplinarity is inseparable from the creative process of Annie-Claude Deschênes, who continues her ongoing personal quest to merge music and performance art by distorting established conventions of spectacle. An essential figure in the Montreal independent music scene for nearly twenty years, she has distinguished herself as a singer, musician, songwriter, composer, and visual artist within Duchess Says and PyPy, two bands recognized for both their electrifying performances and artistic sensibility.

Her exploratory approach to staging and sound design is now taking a new direction with the creation of her solo project: the urgency that characterizes her work remains, but frustration and aggression are giving way to introspection and vulnerability. Under her own name, Annie-Claude Deschênes plans to explore and reinvent herself, driven by a constant need to create outside of her comfort zone.
