Swedish singer and composer Erika Angell has spent the last two decades on the avant-garde music scenes of Stockholm, starting in 2004, and Montreal, from 2012. Through sixteen independently produced albums and countless collaborations, Erika Angell has been a bold and poetic force in genre-defying music. Her main projects include the art-rock band Thus Owls, nominated for the Polaris Prize, the new music trio Beatings Are In The Body, and more recently, solo performances under her own name. Her voice has been described as "a guiding presence" (Exclaim), placing her "among the greatest fearless female indie artists" (Le Devoir). Angell released her first solo album, The Obsession With Her Voice, via the legendary Constellation label in March 2024, an electroacoustic work of unrestrained vocal exploration and expressionist pre-electronic composition.
