Fernie was born in Brazil but grew up in Montreal, adopted into a household where English, Portuguese, French, and German were spoken. It was a challenging and often alienating childhood, but Fernie found an escape through songwriting. Fernie released his debut album, Aurora, in 2021, showcasing his incredible voice and immense talent. He has performed at major festivals such as The Great Escape in the UK, MaMA in Paris, SIM Sao Paulo in Brazil, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and more, sparking international acclaim for his work. Media outlets like Radio Nova, Rolling Stone France, RFI, KCRW, Exclaim!, and many others have praised Fernie’s talent. In 2023, he signed with Secret City Records after collaborating with his mentor, Patrick Watson, on the powerful track Pain, which was subsequently released in April 2024. His latest EP, Hopeless Dream, is set to be released on February 14, 2025.
