Indie, Pop
The Québec duo Grand Eugène, made up of Melyssa Lemieux and Jeremy Lachance, moves just as much in the urgency of creating as in the depths of memories that are hard to put into words. Between CEGEP, Montréal apartments and the Canadian West, their joint project came to life in 2023 with a first self-titled EP. Their intention is clear: to offer an indie sound with a dreamlike character, carried by the whispered voice of its singer and the soft, cushiony arrangements of its main composer.
Several of their songs quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of streams on platforms, drawing the attention of music lovers on both sides of the Atlantic to the promising Québec duo. In 2024, Grand Eugène released a second EP, Les vacances d’été, which they took on the road across Québec and France.
Like a flower on a tombstone, their music springs up everywhere, soothes broken hearts, and lends a vivid air to the most fleeting of things.
