Hua Li 化力, with her smoky R&B tracks and revolutionary rap, gets straight to the point and makes your fragile body move to the ground. She released her first full album, Dynasty, with Next Door Records in September 2019, followed by her critically acclaimed EP Yellow Crane in 2020, an ode to her mother’s hometown of Wuhan. A charismatic artist, she has had the opportunity to showcase her work on major stages around the world, including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Toronto Pride, and the Secret Solstice Festival in Reykjavik. She is also an active DJ, with residencies in her hometown of Montreal and as a touring DJ for Inuit electro-pop artist Riit. Hua Li is currently working on her second album, ripe fruit falls but not in your mouth, scheduled for early 2024. Subversive and sexy, Hua Li is the only half-Chinese, half-activist, half-rapper artist ready to win your heart.
