Afrobeat, Jazz, Pop, Progressive

The band Maman was born from the ambition of brothers Renaud and Étienne Belles-Isles to create music that would make their mother dance.

It was in 2023, after several years of musical exploration, that the group’s unique sound took shape. That same year, friends they met through music at Cégep de Sainte-Foy — Olivier Bacon (guitar), Clémence Richard (vocals), and Edmond Brousseau (saxophone) — joined the original quartet made up of the Belles-Isles brothers, Emmanuel Canadian (bass), and Benjamin Corpataux-Blache (keyboard and congas). Recently, Antoine Farand has taken up the torch on bass, bringing unprecedented grooves.

In 2025, with the release of their first EP, Les Baignades, Maman succeeds in sharing their authentic energy, woven through sincere friendships and a deep love for music.
