Indie, Rock, Folk

For a decade, Émerik St-Cyr Labbé has been shaping a distinctive sound under the name Mon Doux Saigneur, with a tendency to go beyond the ordinary – a music for the road. Maintaining a steady pace, the band follows up on two critically acclaimed albums – Horizon (2020) and Fleur de l’Âge (2022) – by unveiling their fourth album Du soleil dans l’œil (2024).

Opting for a new creative approach, the singer-songwriter entrusted the bulk of the composition to his fellow guitarist Eliott Durocher-Bundock. The pair decided to approach the forms and rhythms of the demos for the new songs as hip-hop producers would. From these demos, the other band members (Mandela Coupal-Dalgleish on drums, Cédric Martel on bass, and David Marchand on pedal steel) built their parts – all of which were recorded, mixed, and co-produced by their trusted Jean-Bruno Pinard.
