Post-punk
MULCH (Montreal, QC) is a band born out of the necessity to be vulnerable. Starting out as a pure hardcore punk project, the band quickly lost its compass by incorporating elements of noise rock, drone and math rock. Existing somewhere on the plane of avant-garde post-punk, MULCH asks more questions than it ever answers, and is perfectly comfortable doing whatever it wants, and going wherever it takes them.
Formed in December 2023, MULCH wasted no time and released their first bilingual (french-english) EP Nothing Grows Out of Dried Flowers on February 19th 2024. Since then they’ve been playing a plethora of shows and achieving somewhat moderate local success. In between shows they’re busy having fun with their friends from Population II, so much fun that they recorded and released a psych-punk split EP Mulchulation II, released on October 31st on Bonsound.
Continuously experimenting with their sound, and never taking a break, MULCH released their 2nd, French only, EP Nuance Maximum on November 13th 2024.
