Folk
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Alma in Lac-Saint-Jean, Sandra Contour made her musical debut in 2021. She is the winner of the 30th edition of Ma première place des arts, a finalist in the 12th edition of the Cabaret Festif! for emerging talent, and a member of the 28th edition of Les Francouvertes.
Her songs invite listeners into a bittersweet universe, often accompanied by a sly smile. Through her folk music, which can be tragic, humorous, and always sensitive, she seeks to deconstruct overwhelming and dramatic concepts, turning them into something healing. She sings about the nostalgia of forgetting to take photos, paper airplanes battling the wind, breakups that leave behind a couch, and houses that walk with a limp.
On stage, she strives to connect with her audience through words like "hello" or "Emotions still distinguish us from robots to this day, we might as well enjoy them." Nuances, contrasts, and self-deprecation are some of her favorite things. She will release her debut album J’ai pas d’visite in May 2024.
