Metal, Rock, Punk
"STRAIGHT OUTTA MONTREAL, Sudden Waves embodies the essence of hardcore, pop punk and metal in a very unique blend. From the release of their debut album Meet Me Halfway, their sound—at times aggressive, at times nostalgic—captivated a diverse audience with electrifying riffs and powerful energy.
In addition to sharing the stage with a panoply of bands such as Emmure, Polaris, Alpha Wolf, Counterparts, For The Fallen Dreams, Obey The Brave, Like Moths to Flames & Invent Animate, they jumped on the stage of several major festivals, such as Festival d'Été de Québec, Montebello Rockfest, Music4Cancer, DesBouleaux and Envol & Macadam.
Since they signed with the record label Hell for Breakfast in 2020, the quintet have never looked back and have gone into productive mode to compile an impressive number of music videos (Vertigo, We're All Connected, So Swift, 15,000 bombs, F*ck Cancer) before bringing together all these iconic titles in a single album, We're All Connected (2021) which is the perfect representation of the accumulation of experience acquired by the group.
The band made waves again in 2022 with the album COURTSIDE // SHOWDOWN, which splits its tracks in two: COURTSIDE features a heavier sound with a more serious theme, while SHOWDOWN is a celebration of youth with a high-energy pop-punk vibe.
In 2024, the band makes a true return to its roots with a short live sessions EP called “Live at House o Gain”, and a brand new single, “Sense of Touch”, with a distinctly progressive hardcore sound, adorned with hard-hitting riffs and sharp lyrics.
Then in September, a new opportunity arises—their first European tour alongside DOG EAT DOG, as well as several local artists across nine countries, including Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and Denmark. In 2025, they released two singles, 'Sense of Touch' and 'Powerslide' and was in different festivals like, NXNE, FEQ with in Flames and M4C."
