Chansons, Indie, Pop

Originally from Les Escoumins and now based in Quebec City, VALOIS asserts her feminist perspective through indie pop compositions, also drawing on electro and French chanson. Her vivid songs seek out ways to satisfy her urgent desire to live intensely. Through heart, gut, and voice, VALOIS brings us into a world where woman is sometimes queen, sometimes witch—always powerful.

VALOIS is also the surname of her grandmother, who never had the chance to pass it on before the family line ended. And what a lineage it was—a line of strong-minded women fueled by ambition and intelligence. Jordane Labrie reclaims the VALOIS within her, as a tribute to the important women in her life.

Her self-titled debut EP (October 10, 2025), produced by Colin Savoie-Levac, brings together five songs that poetically portray the unsettling portrait of society that has emerged in recent months. Though overwhelmed by the sense of powerlessness we all feel, VALOIS uses her songs to try to “dig new wells of light” (from the song fantômes). In both her life and her music, VALOIS faces challenges with ambition and sincerity, making her a relevant and multifaceted artist.
